About the Student Poster Session

CMC3 invites community college mathematics students to participate in the student poster session at our Fall Conference. We encourage all types of posters that present some aspect of mathematics (math history, math education, problem solving, mathematical modeling, algebra, calculus, topology, statistics, etc), and provide these guidelines for your poster and information on how they will be judged.

A $150 scholarship is awarded for each student poster entry presented at the Fall Conference: $150 is awarded to each single student presenter or $75 is awarded to each pair of student presenters. Additional scholarships will be awarded to the winning poster(s).

Presenters are to set up their posters at 9 am on the Saturday of the conference and remove their posters between 3 pm and 5 pm the same day. Student presentations will occur between 10:30 and 11:30 am in Regency V with each entry given 10 minutes to present their poster. Awards will be announced before the keynote. Tables will be provided to hold stand-alone posters. If you wish to present your poster on an easel, please bring an easel and backing. Once the application is submitted, applicants and their sponsors will be contacted with additional information about when and where they will present their posters to conference attendees.

Students are limited to two student presenters per entry and lunch will be provided to all applicants. Additional lunches may be purchased at the regular conference rate (currently $75 per lunch, payable at the conference). Student presenters will need to have a faculty sponsor who attends the conference. The faculty sponsor is responsible for their own conference registration.
